  • PM&L Theatre: Man of La Mancha

    Man of La Mancha, written by Dale Wasserman, with music by Mitch Leigh, and lyrics by Joe Darian, opens at PM&L Theatre on Friday, March 24th, and will run for three weekends. Man of La Mancha is directed by Lorrie Ferguson whose recent PM&L directing credits include The Mousetrap and A Flea in Her Ear. Man of La Mancha is adapted from Miguel de Cervantes's Don Quixote, and tells the story of the "mad knight" and Everyman, Don Quixote (Ken Scheske, Salem, WI), as he goes forth on his quest with his loyal squire, Pancho (Gary Luz, Round Lake, IL) to dream "The Impossible Dream" and honor his lady love, Dulcinea (Christen M. Dominguez, McHenry, IL). The "play within a play" is performed by Cervantes and his fellow prisoners as he awaits a hearing with the Spanish Inquisition and remains one of the world's most popular musicals. Man of La Mancha will run Fridays and Saturdays, March 24th, 25th, 31st, April 1st, 7th, and 8th at 8:00 pm; and Sundays, March 26th, April 2nd, and 9th at 2:30 pm. Tickets are available online starting February 22nd at and are $18.00 for adults and $15.00 for seniors and students. The box office is open Monday through Thursday, from 6:00-8:00 pm; Saturday, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm; and one and a half hours before curtain on show dates.
