The Rotary Club of Antioch was Chartered in 1968. We are an organization of service minded men and women that plan to carry out a remarkable variety of humanitarian, educational and cultural exchange programs that touch people’s lives in their local communities (inlcuding but not limited to Antioch, Lake Villa and Lindenhurst area) and our world community.

We meet weekly Thursday mornings for fellowship and interesting and informative programs dealing with topics of local and global importance. Membership is by invitation and reflects a wide cross-section of community representation.

Matti and Vuokko Laurilla From Finland are welcomed back to Antioch and the Rotary Club of Antioch by President Gary Quedenfeld at the Club's June 17 meeting. Matti served as the Rotary International Exchange Student from Finland to Antioch High School during his Senior Year of 1979-1980.


Former Finnish Rotary International Exchange Student Matti and Vuokko Laurilla stand with several great friends from Antioch that Matti met during his Senior Year (1979-80) at Antioch High School. Left to right are Clay Hamlin, a current Antioch Rotarian who was a teenager when Matti lived with his family during part of his stay here; former Rotarian Dick Paddock, Vuokko and Matti Laurilla Carol Paddock. The Paddocks hosted in their home both Matti in 1979-80 and Salla, Vuokko and Matti's daughter, in 2004-2005. The Laurilla's were once again guests of the Paddock's as the visited Antioch during the third week of June.


Matti Laurilla, the Finnish Rotary International Exchange Student to Antioch in 1979-80, makes a point while Dick and Carol Paddock and the rest of the Rotary Club of Antioch listens during Rev. Laurilla's presentation on June 16 at the Club's 7:00am meeting. Matti and his wife Vuooko were visiting Antioch and several other locations in the United States.
