Local residents had a chance to hunt for exemplary specimens amongst the perennials offered during the Antioch Garden Club’s annual spring plant sale held at the Williams Park Pavilion, 741 Main St., in Antioch, on Saturday, May 20.

Gusty early-morning winds, chilly temperatures in the forties, and rain showers kept attendees bundled up in late-winter garb but the weather did little to dampen enthusiasm for Antioch’s eventual springtime.

In addition to the fundraising plant sale, the Garden Club conducts educational programs throughout the year, offers a scholarship, maintains public gardens throughout the village, and holds garden walks during the warm-weather months, amongst many other endeavors.
