The annual pre-Super Bowl BBQ & Raffle for the Antioch Adrenaline Traveling Softball team took place in front of Piggly Wiggly, 460 Orchard St., on Saturday, February 4.

Shivering team members along with their manager, Adam Ring and other volunteers hoped to get the team’s adrenaline flowing prior this year’s season.

The Adrenaline is comprised of girls 15-16 years old. They play their games throughout the Midwest representing the village. In June of 2016, the team won the USSSA IL State Tournament in Skokie and two weeks later won a second tournament in Algonquin.

Saturday's event was a fundraiser for the crew who, despite temperatures just below the freezing mark and strong winds, managed smiles. All are anxious to see the football season put behind them so they can begin preparing for spring training.
